Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. It is a holy city for Jews, Christians, and Muslims. It was all very important for all of their religions. For Christians it is important because they thought Jesus had died on the cross there. It was special for the Muslims because Muhammed had rose to heavan there. Later, the Church launched four bloody wars to recapture Jerusalem because it was the main city of the Holy Land, Palestine.
